Just a Few Facts About Abortion and Senator Obama

A few days ago, I was listening to the Wilkow Majority on Sirius Satellite Radio channel 144. Mr. Wilkow presented some interesting facts about abortion. I was always against abortion, because I believe that life begins at conception. His discourse on the subject and abortion was more than enlightening.

He also brought up an interesting point about Senator Obama:

Heart begins to beat around 22 days from conception

–  There have been more than 40 million abortions since 1973.

– Women have cited ‘social reasons’ , not mother’s health or rape/incest as their motivation in approximately 93% of all abortions.

A June 1999 Wirthlin poll found that 62% of Americans support legal abortion in only three or fewer circumstances:  when the pregnancy results from rape or incest or when it threatens the life of the mother.

  1. Excellent post.

    This issue needs to be pushed to the front of discussions as I believe it is the one issue upon which all other issues hinge — if a person thinks life is important from conception then he will most likely think everybody’s life is important and govern in that manner.
