Dear Mr. (deleted):

Thank you for taking the time to contact me regarding the Freedom of Choice Act. I appreciate hearing from all Pennsylvanians about the issues that matter most to them.

The Freedom of Choice Act is a bill that has been reintroduced in the House and the Senate multiple times over the last twenty years. Were it to become law, the Freedom of Choice Act would codify the Roe v. Wade decision and potentially remove state governmental restrictions on abortion prior to viability.

As you know, I was elected to the United States Senate as a pro-life candidate. I believe that life begins at conception, and that the role of government is to protect, enrich, and value life for everyone, at every moment, from beginning to end. These principles guide my actions as a public official. Therefore, I do not support the Freedom of Choice Act.

Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts with me. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future about this or any other matter of importance to you.

If you have access to the Internet, I encourage you to visit my web site, http://casey.senate.gov. I invite you to use this online office as a comprehensive resource to stay up-to-date on my work in Washington, request assistance from my office or share with me your thoughts on the issues that matter most to you and to Pennsylvania.

Sincerely,
Bob Casey
United States Senator
