Even in Small Town’s We Are Not Safe

256px-downtown_jim_thorpeBelow is an interesting article from WFMZ News.

Suspects in Custody in ”Police Incident” in Carbon Co

What I find interesting, is the fact that my wife who is an instructional aid at one of the schools (furthest from the incident), was able to tell me more about this “incident” than the article tells.

This small town of approximately 4,800 residents, and a favorite tourist attraction of many people is now a home to drug dealers.  The “incident” mentioned in the article linked above, apparently involved drugs. What kind and amounts I do not know, but I can guess crystal meth and/or cocaine were there.

Where did the drugs come from and why are they in my small town? Good question. The town has seen a recent influx of new residents from nearby large cities (New York, Philadelphia, and the like). I think the drugs came with these people.

Just my thoughts.
