Mix in a burgeoning gambling industry, one of the world’s largest casino operators and a Lehigh Valley population starving for more fine dining and ”bam!” a recipe for a successful restaurant is born.
At least that’s what Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem officials hope will happen when celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse opens his 11th restaurant to anchor the casino’s collection of eateries.
According to sources close to the $743 million casino development, a Lagasse-operated steakhouse will anchor the four restaurants that will ring the casino floor when the slots parlor opens May 22.
Las Vegas Sands officials plan to announce the lineup of restaurants in the coming weeks. They stopped short of confirming that Lagasse would be headlining one of them.
”We look forward to offering a variety of foods in four restaurants that will include a steakhouse by a world-renowned celebrity chef,” said Sands spokesman Ronald Reese. ”But we are not naming names.”
